HOME GARDENING IN TREND

Home Gardening is the need of the hour considering the situation in the world where food products and vegetables are being sold at hiked prices and are grown using extensive amounts of pesticides and insecticides. Home Gardening provides a platform to budding gardeners and even regular people to develop and explore their green hand. It is a great way to incorporate life into areas that need a revamp and a new lease of life! Not just this, it will also add color to your homes and elevate your mood like none other.

Keeping a home garden has multiple benefits. Aside from having farm-fresh organic produce, the greenery around your backyard or garden will be highly effective in reducing pollution levels in your vicinity providing a healthier environment.

Also, the greens and brightness are just enough to elevate a dull or boring mood! Writer’s block, hit the open air and garden; feeling low, go around for a walk amidst greenery; it is a full-time solution to all your problems and not just an aesthetically pleasing corner of the house.

In today’s times, there is an undeniable stress on having kitchen gardens at one’s house. The saying: “Look I got it straight out of my garden, totally organic and home grown!”, provides one much fun and pride. A kitchen garden would ask for time to invest and space to create! Before setting up a kitchen garden, one must have a proper layout for the same; it will help you pan out different colors across the area the way you would like for it to ultimately look.

Kitchen garden can involve planting of vegetable, fruits and herbs. Fruit gardens require ample space, and a whole lot of patience for the fruit is ready for use only after 2-3 years. You can plan out fruits to be planted according to the season in which they ripen and are ready to harvest.

While fruit gardens ask for space, a vegetable garden asks for the best garden soil and a sunny area of the house to bloom. The simplest approach to a vegetable garden is to prepare beds wide enough so that you have a good reach from each side and have sufficient area of pathway between the beds. You can also have herb beds out in the garden, but they ask for a sunny to semi-shaded area. Herbs require for an airy area where there is a continuous circulation of air (this does not mean wind) with sufficient moisture. The area shouldn’t be extremely dry with just air circulating! Herbs account for the most popular grow at home plants.

Lastly, one thing that is common to all these types of gardens is the requirement for compost. The soil organisms possess the ability to convert the compost into highly valuable ‘humus’ which determines the quantity and quality of your produce.

These were a few quick notes before you step forward and plan your home garden. A greener environment at home will benefit not just you but also your close neighborhood, so, let’s get started and put our best foot forward as environmentally responsible citizens of the country.
