The environmental and corporate social responsibility is an inter-
mingled web of actions and expectations. As a firm, we can aim at
a comprehensive impact assessment study to ensure a proper
benchmark and transparency. One must also ensure compliance
with international standards of environment set by bodies of
international repute and set up environmental controls in the
in-situ region. Just like one invests in business strategizing, they
must do the same for environmental and social management
strategy. The company must refrain from contaminating forms of
natural resources, mainly water bodies. The main reasons of
environmental hazard include elimination of factory wastes,
activities that aim at improving efficiency of production resources
and many more.
Although there exist certain standards and controls to ensure
environmental quality, firms are failing to abide by them since
they involve heavy cost licenses and large amounts of investment
in technology upgrade.
Our responsibility as firms towards the environment today is a
deal with no possibility of negotiations. We should be fully aware
and sensitive to the need of maintaining ecological balance
between human activities and nature’s procreation. Hence, we
must make all possible efforts to ensure a better quality of
environment for us and well as our neighborhoods. To end it,
“Because being useful to ourselves, to others and to the world is
the very meaning of our progress”.
